Handrails separate us from the danger of a fall and sometimes a deadly distance of no forgiveness. These same “safety” measures take away freedom, preventing us from stepping to the edge. I’m not against handrails, but “safety” should not override freedom.
To quote Benjamin Franklin, “Those who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety.” Essential liberty is more than the absence of handrails on a sidewalk, or the right to take the brakes off of your vehicle, so let’s do away with these strawman arguments. The same can be said for wearing masks. It is a small sacrifice made to “protect” others. Except many of us recognize that there is at least something off about this new measure.
If you have any grasp of Communist tactics, you might see the mask mandate as much more. While convincing the general population that non-mask wearers are enemies of the state, they can turn neighbors against each other. The rebellious group who resists the mask, sees a freedom being removed, and knows they will be persecuted, yet they still resist.
My big issue today is the fact that ungodly men are instructing Christians. I think we are at a crossroads, and need to decide where our faith resides, whether it be in doctors, government officials, or anyone else whose wisdom did not come from the Most High God.
