Counterfeit discernment

Lately, I have been considering a collation involving counterfeit money.  A bank teller in training is taught how to identify the real from the fake.  My first thought would be all the different forms of fake dollars.  In each, the teller would is shown a flaw in the portrait or a portion of the bill incorrectly colored. However, this is not at all how they are taught to identify counterfeits.

Starting, they are handed real money and are encouraged to feel it.  Various characteristics are noticed, including the texture and raised symbols.  After a time, they are given fake money, and with only a little training, it becomes apparent which is real and not real.

My concern is that today, we are handed so much fake wisdom that it is possible we can be deceived.  Matthew 24:24 describes deception through great signs and wonders, and I believe the way is being paved for that right now.

Society is conditioned to look at people’s feelings to judge, swaying them from God’s Truth.  Man can identify as women or as children, and even sexual orientation is up to how a person feels.  This bringing imagination to reality is the tip of the iceberg describing the chaos our society is dipping into.

I am not going to attempt wading through this mess to expose the flaws; rather, I just need to know what the Creator thinks since He is the One who designed what is real.  Enveloping our lives in the Word daily will give us an edge on discernment.  Anything that sticks out or doesn’t quite seem right probably isn’t.  There is only one Truth, and God gave us a simple means in knowing it.
