Worship is under attack. Singing in church is being outlawed while screaming protestors are encouraged to continue. Leaders of faith have an objection to the hypocrisy, signed by California Gov. Gavin Newsom, banning singing and chanting in houses of worship. Adding to the decree, indoor attendance has been lowered to 25 percent of the building capacity or 100 attendees; whichever is lower. The solution is having members stay home attending online services.
Worship leader Sean Feucht of Bethel Church says he is defying the ban calling it an “Unprecedented attack.” Feucht gives notice to the tens of thousands gathering, screaming, chanting, and protesting. This is happening all across California’s cities, encouraged by state leaders.
Challenging this decree, Sean Feucht has developed a pledge called “Let us worship.” He is encouraging his followers to sign it and pass it on for others to see. Sean includes a message directly to Gov. Gavin Newsom in song form: “Pharaoh Pharaoh…” Sean continues, quoting from the Book of Exodus chapter 8, “This is what the Lord says. Let My people go, so that they may worship Me.”
Why attack worship? This is the substance of our gathering. We give glory to our Creator and the enemy fears this. Disarming God’s people would be done by preventing what He commanded us to do; worship. Psalm 22 says He is enthroned on our praises or inhabits them. I know the rival team gets irritated hearing how “good” their rivals are, and Satan is no different. Driving him and his demons away is just a matter of letting him know how awesome your God is.
